Presented by George Street Chambers' members: Michael Long and Riley McDermott this seminar will provides a practical overview of the most frequently encountered interlocutory applications in litigation, including applications for summary judgment, strike out, further and better particulars, and disclosure. The presentation will cover procedural requirements, strategic considerations, and recent case law developments to enhance advocacy and case management skills.Michael is an experienced commercial litigator with a focus on trial advocacy, particularly in building and construction and insolvency matters. Admitted in 2006, he practised as a solicitor in Brisbane before joining the private bar in 2012. Michael regularly appears in State and Federal Courts across Queensland and interstate.
Riley practises in a broad range of commercial disputes, with a focus on insolvency and construction. Before being called to the Bar, he was a senior associate at a Queenskand mid-tier firm.
