An invitation to Evergreen House, the residence of the wealthy Coy family, appears to be the perfect setting for Louisa to document colonial life. But beneath the surface a scandal is brewing.
During a chance encounter with the escaped convict Wallace Hopkins, Louisa is given the means to expose this scandal.
