12 Hours Face to Face Training (Over two Saturdays. 6 Hours each Sat (9am - 3pm). Lunch is not provided.The Mental Health First Aid course is a nationally acknowledged program designed to assist people who are experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until appropriate professional treatment is available or the crisis resolves.
Participants will develop the knowledge and skills needed to effectively recognise, communicate with and support people experiencing mental health issues until they can access professional mental health services.
Mental Health First Aid courses how to provide first aid for following mental health conditions:
Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis and Substance use problems
Course also cover common mental health crises such as Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
Non-suicidal self-injury, Panic attacks, Traumatic events, Severe psychotic states, Severe effects from alcohol and other drug use, Aggressive behaviours
