Solomon and Associated Families – A Potted History

About
It all began with one man - Samuel Moss Solomon. He was the father of Emanuel and Vaiben Solomon, brothers who were transported to Australia. Fast forward 207 years and the Solomons have left a significant mark on this country. A classic story of ‘convicts made good’. Their descendants have also had a strong impact on the history of Australia.Jenny Cowen comes from a well-documented family, yet their story remained fragmented and their photographs scattered until she organised the first Solomon Family Reunion in 2012, followed by several more. Since then, she has built an extensive photographic archive and compiled what she calls “birth, marriage and obituary albums.” She has also written and published numerous articles and books on family members, including two editions of the Solomon Family Tree, which now records more than 7,000 individuals.
