Conservation IS caring for country
About
A discussion on the synergy between traditional knowledge in caring for country and conservation techniques for our Riparian area, floodplains and wetlands. We'll take a deep dive into species of cultural significance to the Bangarang people, hearing some of their traditional stories from Jiarra Atkinson. Sophie Enders will then share the current status for the same species and provide some conservation tips on how you can care for these species of importance. We'll conclude with some other ways you can assist these species on a broader scale such as monitoring programs and enjoy afternoon tea to continue yarning and knowledge sharing.
Weather willing we will present this event in the field with a walk through Big Kaluna park admiring the beautiful King River.
You'll leave with a deeper understanding of Bangarang culture and connection to our local species, some practical tips for assisting these species on your own property and ideas on how to get involved across a broader landscape.
