Join us online for the launch of Radical Reckonings: Survival in Patriarchy by Renate Klein, launched by Robyn Rowland AO, Irish Australian poet, writer and retired academic.This book is a “skeleton journey” through Klein’s life in patriarchy. It begins with her passion for autonomous Women’s Studies and radical feminist research, then critiques reproductive technologies as a member of FINRRAGE, including IVF, egg “donations,” cloning, surrogacy, contraceptives, hormone therapy and RU 486. Klein argues women are our bodies, ourselves, showing how technologies with postmodern and queer theories fragment and dismember women. At 80, she continues her quest for liberation and hopes this collection will stir young women into action.
