Join us online for the launch of Radical Reckonings: Survival in Patriarchy by Renate Klein, launched by Robyn Rowland.Fifteen years after shelving the idea of a collection, Klein has pared down her writings to a “skeleton journey” through her life and survival in patriarchy. The book begins with her passion for autonomous Women’s Studies and radical feminist research methodology. She critiques reproductive technologies as a member of FINRRAGE, including IVF, egg “donations,” cloning, surrogacy, contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy and the French abortion pill RU 486. As a feminist women’s health activist, Klein argues women are our bodies, showing how reproductive technologies with postmodern and queer theories fragment and dismember women. At 80, she continues her quest for liberation and hopes this collection will stir young women into action.
