This is a 1 x 1.5-hour session on Wednesday 1st October 2025, 1:00pm-2:30pm.

You must be a current member of Illawarra Archers or completed an Illawarra Archers' Beginners Course to attend this session.

This session is designed to introduce you to the basics of compound archery and equipment, enabling you to decide if it is suitable for you before you commit to purchasing a compound bow.

This session builds on the archery basics covered in the Beginners Course, but is entirely focused on compound archery, including comparisons and contrasts to recurve archery.

* Introduction to the compound bow
* Basic setup and fitment to the participant - draw length, release aid, peep sight
* Key aspects related to safely and successfully shooting the compound bow.
* Shooting experience

All equipment is provided.
