An inspirational documentary that follows a group of determined women during their 14-year fight for the right to work in Wollongong’s steel industry. This struggle plays out against a background of societal change: from the emergence of the women’s movement, Australia’s new anti-discrimination legislation, and the shifting role of women in the home - especially within a largely migrant workforce.'Women of Steel' is a story of perseverance and comradeship, told with great emotion and humour, whilst offering inspiration and hope.
