Kelp & the Sentient Sea Performance & Artist Talk@Berninneit

Kelp and the Sentient Sea | Performance & Artist Talk
Saturday 25 October, 2pm-3.30pm
Berninneit Art Gallery, Cowes
---
2pm - Performance: Dancing Kelp (20 mins)
We are excited to present this short dance and sound piece as part of the exhibition Kelp and the Sentient Sea by Kim McDonald and Jasmine Susic. This work responds to the forces of the oceanic environment and how they intertwine with the movement and physicality of printmaking and dance practice. With original sound by South Gippsland/Naarm based artist Rott Wheeler, visual art and performance collide in this event, resulting in a unique and immersive activation of the exhibition and bringing the forces within the work to life.
Dancers: Jasmine Susic, Lucy Hogan, Joe Newton-Keogh and Alec Katsourakis
Sound: Sea Ghost by Rott Wheeler
2.30pm - Artist Talk
Following the performance, you are welcome to stay for an Artist Talk where artists Jasmine Susic and Kim McDonald will discuss their exhibition and ongoing collaboration.
Audience access notes:
This performance will take place inside the Gallery. The dancers will move throughout the exhibition space, which includes printmaking, installation, and film projection. There will be some seating available for audience members, otherwise you may stand and/or move through the space during the performance. The performance duration is approximately 20 minutes.
