Edith Cowan University's Nutrition & Health Innovation Research Institute presents a public lecture by Distinguished Visiting Professor John Schousboe: "If blood vessels could talk: What everyone should know about vascular calcification."John Schousboe MD PhD is a health services researcher and clinician who pioneered the use of bone densitometers to assess vertebral fracture and abdominal aortic calcification.
Based at HealthPartners Institute and adjunct at the University of Minnesota, Prof Schousboe's research has led improvements in cardiovascular disease risk assessment, and his public talk will highlight the importance of early identification and prevention of vascular calcification for individuals, and why this matters at a population level.
Prof Schousboe will tell you what your blood vessels wish you knew - how to take control of your cardiovascular health and protect yourself from common, chronic and preventable diseases that are rampant across the nation.
