Warrnambool Theatre Company's LIFE • LOVE • LOSS
About
The Warrnambool Theatre Company’s One Act Play Festival returns to the Anderson Theatre, Brauer College, from 15–16 November 2025, convened by Ross McCorkell. This much-anticipated annual event celebrates the artistry of local playwrights, directors, and performers through four original short plays.
Chris Miles’ The Death and Birth of Dracula delivers a razor-sharp gothic comedy brimming with wit and absurdity; Burt’s Wake by McCorkell and Lex Waterreus offers a heartfelt, twist-filled reflection on friendship and loss; Wendy Hunter’s Sometimes I Wonder explores memory, love and identity with poignancy and grace; and Possessions, also by McCorkell and Waterreus, captures the quiet beauty of family, grief, and remembrance.
Festival convenor Ross McCorkell, a seasoned writer and director with deep roots in regional and community theatre, continues to foster new Australian writing and performance, ensuring Warrnambool remains a vibrant hub of creative storytelling.
Note: Performances explore mature themes, including death and sexual references, and may not be suitable for younger audience members. Parental guidance is recommended.
Strobe lighting is used in some scenes.
