A meditation by Oded Ronen on endurance and the fragile pulse of hope that keeps us alive. Whales sleep with half their brain at rest - one eye closed in dreams, the other open and alert. This rhythm echoes the story of Nimrod Cohen, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier held hostage by Hamas. For over two years, he was confined in a cage, cut off from light and time. Yet perhaps, even in that abyss, some part of him - like the whale’s waking eye - kept dreaming ... of home, of love, of freedom.
THE ONLY ONES
A dance play by John Reed exploring what it means to be the grandchild of Holocaust survivors and also dealing with the singularity of my experiences as well as all of ours. It is about family and family history, identity, legacy and loneliness. What are the connections? How do I use it? And what do we do when we are the only ones who…?
