The Cherry Orchard - Frankston Theatre Group Inc.
An aristocratic Russian landowner returns to her family estate, and its large and well-known cherry orchard. The estate is about to be auctioned to pay the mortgage, and a prospective buyer is the son of a former serf.
The story presents the attempts of the declining aristocracy to maintain its status, and the attempts of their successors to find meaning in newfound materialism.
