Are you interested to support your group in Mental health? As part of the Brimbank Community Governance Program, Brimbank Council is offering a 2-day Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training in the Community Setting course to community members and leaders in Brimbank. Training dates are Monday, 1 December and Tuesday, 2 December.This course teaches participants how to provide initial support to another adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received, or the crisis resolves.
Participants will learn:
- about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in a friend, family member, loved one or another adult,
- to recognize and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem,
- treatments and supports available.
Participants must attend both days. At the end of the 2 day training, participants will receive a nationally recognized Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certificate.
