The Australian Counselling Association (ACA) offers a Chapter meeting for its Brazilian and Portuguese community and members. The Brazilian Chapter meet online via Zoom, on the first Friday of each month. Presentations are held in Portuguese.Agenda: Supervision – why it matters: reflections on the new standards in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

This presentation will explore the purpose and value of clinical supervision in contemporary counselling and psychotherapy practice.
It will reflect on the new professional standards, ethical responsibilities, practitioner wellbeing, and the role of supervision in maintaining safe, reflective, and culturally responsive practice.
The session will also invite participants to reflect on supervision as a space for professional growth, self-care, and accountability.
Claudia Da Silva is a counsellor and clinical supervisor based in Perth, with experience working with trauma, couples, and culturally diverse communities, also mentoring new counsellours
She is an ACA Level 4 Supervisor and has a strong interest in reflective practice, professional development, and supporting counsellors through ethical, relational, and trauma-informed supervision.
Claudia is also actively involved in supporting the Brazilian counselling community in Australia.
