Description: The Smashing Machine' is directed by Benny Safdie and is based on the life of Mark Kerr, a former amateur wrestler and mixed martial arts fighter. The film explores Kerr's rise in the world of MMA, his struggles with addiction, and his complicated relationships, particularly with his girlfriend, Dawn Staples, played by Emily Blunt. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 1, 2025, where it received the Silver Lion award.
