Calvary Centenary Tree Planting
About
Calvary Riverina Hospital, established by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, will celebrate its Centenary in 2026. To acknowledge these one hundred years of care provided to the people of the Riverina and beyond, one hundred Manchurian Pear Trees will be planted around Gissing Oval in Wagga Wagga. The first convent of the Little Company of Mary was in Hyson Green, Nottingham, England. In the garden a pear tree grew and as it blossomed, so did the Order. Mary Potter and the early Sisters often sat under the tree to pray, plan and celebrate. For Calvary Health Care, the pear tree is a symbol of our commitment to continue the mission and vision of Mary Potter and signifies our dedication to healing and nurturing the people and communities we serve.
You are invited to sponsor a tree in this historic planting. You can choose who you would like to dedicate the tree to, perhaps in memory of a loved one, a gift to a significant person in your life, or as a token of gratitude.
The cost to sponsor a tree is $200.00. Once you have completed your sponsorship online we will contact you to confirm the name you would like included on the list of dedications that will be included on the permanent plaque accompanying the trees.
