'Truth be Told': Responding to Yoorrook as a Catholic Community
Forum presented by Catholic Social Services Victoria and Australian Catholic University
The Yoorrook Justice Commission was Australia's first formal truth-telling process, shedding light on the parts of Victorian history that have been silenced. After four years of hearing evidence, the Commission delivered its final reports in June 2025. Victoria is now preparing to sign the first ever Treaty with First Nations Peoples in Australia.
“For the first time, the voices of Victoria’s First Peoples are entering the public record on their own terms.” - Yoorrook Truth be Told, 2025
Come and consider the process of truth-telling, what Yoorrook brought to light and how we can respond.
