About
Come and visit Dominic College's award-winning, purpose-built Early Learning Centre. Explore the kindergarten classrooms and the newly established outdoor learning area. Hear from the team and their journey of embedding nature inquiry into their daily practice.Nestled at the foot of kunanyi, Dominic College’s pulana Precinct reflects the College’s Salesian tradition and attempts to reflect a home that welcomes, a parish that evangelizes, a school that prepares for life and a playground where friends meet and enjoy themselves. The redevelopment was designed by Liminal Architecture to embody connection: to Country, to nature, and to one another, through contemporary, play-based environments that nurture curiosity and joy.
Each learning pod is named in palawa kani with permission from the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre: tuminana (Little Fairy Penguin), larila (Platypus), timita (Pygmy Possum) and tuti (Sand Crab), and brought to life through murals by Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Luke Emerton and local muralist Jamin Kluss. These vibrant works celebrate culture, belonging, and relationship to place.
Afternoon tea provided.
