Hi,
My name is Clare Elizabeth Dea. I am a performance artist, keynote speaker, and workshop facilitator. I am also the proud host of Fuckup Nights Melbourne.
I am incredibly passionate about creating spaces where people feel powerfully seen and heard in their authentic expression. Spaces where we transform shame, love our imperfections, and celebrate all the colours of being human.
I have been facilitating workshops for over 20 years, beginning in the world of dance.
I was a lover of performing and the stage, but something was missing. My authentic expression.
Following an intuitive hit and $15000 magically manifesting into my life, I moved to London to study the Meisner Acting Technique full time. Finally learning a range of exercises that forced to stop 'performing' and start being truthful in the moment.
Seeing a gap in the entertainment industry back home I opened up 'Meisner Melbourne.'
Meisner Melbourne became an educational playground for artists, creatives, facilitators, and entrepreneurs to develop confidence on stage and screen.
Though what participants walked away with was far more than performance skills.
They discovered deeper self-connection, spontaneity & freedom from over control, meaningful relationships, and a wild assortment of repressed archetypes that were eager to come out and play.
The Meisner Technique was created by New York acting coach Sanford Meisner to help performers drop the mask and become fully present in the moment. It teaches us to listen deeply, respond truthfully, and allow another person’s behaviour to directly impact how we express ourselves.
Across a decade of teaching these tools, I infused the work with my unique flavour to shift it from an acting technique to a life changing modality for creative expression.
After taking a break from teaching these practises to focus on my performing & speaking career, I am thrilled to be back in the arena alongside Dan Cully who will be assisting me.
Dan teaches authentic relating here in Melbourne and is also an epic musician / singer / songwriter. He has also trained in the basics of The Meisner Technique with one of my previous students who I trained to teach the work.
So who is this for?
Experienced facilitators, speakers, coaches, and performers who have been dancing in the world of transformation for some time.
Although this is a beginner Meisner intensive, it will be a powerful journey. We will dive deep, follow the pulse of the group dynamic, and allow truth to lead the way.
My intention is for you to leave creatively fulfilled while also hungry for more. Consider this your warning: The Meisner Technique is known to be delightfully addictive 😏
To keep the experience intimate, the workshop will be held in my home for 6 - 9 participants. This ensures personalised attention and feedback that simply is not possible in larger groups.
Workshop Details
📅 17 and 18 January
⏱ 10am to 6pm each day
We will finish with a BBQ and spa party on the Sunday evening to celebrate, connect, and integrate. Of course this is optional.
