5 Week Hand Building Technique Course (SOLD OUT)
About
This is a beginner level course for learning introductory techniques for hand building with clay. Participants will make, decorate and glaze a number of functional or sculptural ceramic pieces. Techniques will be demonstrated, but there is plenty of scope for individual ideas and creativity when creating your pieces.Specifically, the curriculum includes:
• Hand building with coils and pinch pots
• Slab forms and using hump molds
• Glazing with underglaze, brush and dipping glaze
• Clay carving, sgraffito and tissue transfers
• Understanding of clay and glaze types and firing
• Training for independent use of our community studio as a member
Classes run weekly on Tuesday evenings from March 3 - April 7 (*No Class March 31) between 6.00-8.00pm.
Make-up lessons are not available. Please read terms for full cancellation policy. Age 15+.
