DBT for AOD: Essential elements of DBT
In this full day workshop, we cover the essentials of dialectical behaviour therapy and how to adapt this way of working with your individual clients. DBT is an evidence based approach to working with clients who experience traits associated with borderline personality disorder.
Understand the DBT approach and learn key strategies to respond effectively to clients with complex personality traits. Learn how to balance support and validation while maintaining a focus on skill building and change. Explore key elements and strategies of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
