WHAT: The annual Australian Composers Day for 2026 will be held at Santa Sabina College on Monday 16 February 2026 from 9:00am - 2:30pm. Registration desk opens at 8:30am.
This day is a long established tradition at Santa Sabina, and in 2026 the date is timed to give maximum inspiration to Year 12 students in the final throes of their coursework. The day remains of value to Music students of all ages!
We’ve invited a panel of industry experts who between them cover a lot of terrain in the Australian Compositional sphere, and we have considered areas of universal need to both HSC and International Baccalaureate (IB) Music courses. Some of Australia’s leading compositional voices will act as mentors for the day.
From first-time composers to those student with established portfolios, this day will help each participant find and develop their own compositional voice, and be inspired to imagine where their music could take them.
Australian Composers Day 2026 is suitable for secondary music students across Stages 4-6 - but is strategically structured to extend students in Stage 6 (HSC & IB Courses). Of PL value for Music Teachers who are welcome to accompany students for free.
