ACA Gold Coast Chapter - April 2026
About
The ACA Gold Coast Chapter will meet on second Saturday of the month - due to Easter.Agenda: When Alcohol and Drug Use Complicates Therapy
Counselling can become more complex when clients are using alcohol or other substances to cope, or when they are affected by the substance use of someone close to them. Counsellors may sometimes feel unsure of their role or whether a referral is needed.
This presentation explores how core counselling skills can remain effective in these situations, highlights key resources available in Australia, and discusses when and where referral may be appropriate.
Rosemary Grubb is a Master ’s-qualified counsellor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through difficult life circumstances.
