In sports counselling sessions, I work with athletes to help them achieve peak performance by developing the mental and emotional skills essential for success in sport. Each session is tailored to the individual athlete, taking into account their unique challenges, goals, and the specific demands of their sport. Through a combination of evidence-based techniques such as mental imagery, goal setting, positive self-talk, relaxation training, and mindfulness, athletes learn to enhance focus, confidence, and resilience under pressure. A key component of this work involves addressing performance anxiety—helping athletes understand its triggers, manage physiological responses, and transform nervous energy into focused performance. Whether supporting a young athlete learning to regulate pre-competition nerves, or an elite performer striving for consistency at the highest level, my approach integrates performance mindset with practical strategies that can be applied in training and competition. The ultimate goal is to empower athletes with the tools to perform at their best, maintain emotional balance, and sustain long-term enjoyment and motivation in their sport.Dates
