Renewable Energy Forum
About
Under Labor Governments, Queensland had locked in renewable energy targets of 70% by 2032 and 80% by 2035.These targets where set against a detailed plan to invest and scale up renewables and storage projects and phase out coal-fired power by 2035.
Despite the immense levels of investment and jobs this approach would bring to our state, the current Crisafulli LNP Government has scrapped these targets and committed to coal-fired power until at least 2046.
The Government's Energy Roadmap, which does not mention climate change once, has locked-in higher electricity prices and emissions and locked-out investment in renewable energy.
This is a massive step backwards in our efforts to act on climate change and grow our economy.
To discuss these changes, assess what direction our renewables transition is now heading and find out what we can do to fight against this join me, locals and Shadow Minister for Energy Lance McCallum at our Renewable Energy Forum.
