Roller One + Crab Eyes (George Lame Matinee Sessions)
Roller One is a particular style of Astral Country where the guitars chug with a persistent groove, like prime-era Smog, as Hurle's piano unfurls across the song and McAlpin sings 'sometime I wander, and get lost a little, and end up far away', exploring the dichotomy of distraction versus attraction, with nuance and grace. The new album is even more alt-electric acid folk now that the Duo has become a quartet.
Crab Eyes is a drum machine, two electric guitars, a bunch of heartbreak, and a tambourine. Crab Eyes is a synth-rock trio featuring old mates Nathan Hollywood, Ali McCann (Beaches) and Nick Pearson.
