About
Getting ready for the festive season feast!Learn and master how to make basic Japanese paper cord knots - Awabi knot - with Az from Happy JP Designs.
Mizuhiki are Japanese traditional paper cords which are used for gift decorations. In this fun class, you'll learn basic but important knot, the Awabi knot - literary meaning "Abalone" knot - symbolizing prosperity and longevity. We finish them as 2 x cutlery wraps with 2 bamboo chopsticks for the new year celebration. There are lots of stories behind new year celebration "OSHOGATSU" in Japan, which Az will tell you during the 1.5 hour workshop session.
You will have the material for 2 more knots which can be done during the class time or at home. And the free download link for the Christmas and New Year Celebration cutlery wrap paper will be provided for more creations.
