Let Striving Cease - The Simplicity of Prayer
About
We can struggle to let go of the idea that we making something happen in our meditation, trying to achieve something or arrive somewhere. The contemplative tradition speaks of ‘union with God’ which we yearn for and sometimes strive towards. Yet the paradox is that, although the way involves discipline and dedication, it also calls for a deeper letting go of trying to ‘get there’. How do we navigate this paradox? How do we enter the simplicity of prayer? This silent retreat is an invitation, early in the year, to come to rest more deeply in God. We will follow a gentle rhythm of meditation, rest and reflection, with time together and time for solitude, learning to receive the gift already given. It will speak to experienced meditators and beginners. All are welcome.Date
