About

The Branch President has received a valid request, signed by over 200 financial members on 9 November 2025, in accordance with Rule 55(b) of the Union Rules.

This request calls for a Special General Meeting (SGM) of financial members to consider the proposed amalgamation of the Victoria No.3 Branch (VAHPA) with the Victoria No.2 Branch (HACSU).

The following resolutions will be considered at the meeting:

1. That VAHPA does not consent to, and expressly opposes, any amalgamation of VAHPA with any other Branch of the HSU, including but not limited to HACSU.

2. That the Branch Committee is directed to cease and desist from taking any steps to procure the amalgamation.

3. That the Branch Committee is directed to communicate Resolution 1 to the National Council of the HSU and to the Branch Committee of HACSU forthwith.

The SGM has been convened in accordance with Rule 55(c) and will be held in person only:

This meeting will be strictly limited to the matters set out in the petitioned request.
No other business will be considered.
