Active Bystander Training - FREE SESSION
About
We would all like to live in a safe and respectful community, and we all have a role to play in making this a reality. But have you ever witnessed or experienced harmful behaviour which made you feel uncomfortable (such as sexism or racism), but you didn’t know how to react or stop it?This information session facilitated by Relationships Australia Victoria, will empower you to take action in a safe manner. The session will guide you through what active bystander action is and why it is needed, and arm you with a range of strategies to safely respond to disrespectful, unfair and/or unsafe behaviour.
This information session is being provided as part of the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence events offered by Greater Shepparton City Council and Goulburn Integrated Family Violence Services Executive. It can be offered free to the community thanks to funding received by Greater Shepparton City Council for the Free from Violence Local Government Program (Victorian State Government), and Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism grassroots initiative.
