ACA Sydney CBD Chapter - June 2026
About
The ACA Sydney CBD Chapter meets in person on the Third Saturday of each month.Agenda - The Gold in the Mess: Learning from Challenging Moments in Practice
Presented by Dimitrios Papalexis.
Session overview
This peer supervision session introduces counsellors and psychotherapists to a psychodrama-informed, experiential approach to reflecting on practice, roles, and relational dynamics.
Using gentle action methods, participants will be invited to explore live practice themes, particularly moments that feel tricky, messy, or challenging. The session will be held in a contained and supportive group setting and will draw on the three phases of psychodrama: warm-up, brief action (short vignettes or role explorations), and sharing, followed by discussion and Q&A.
The focus is on deepening insight through thinking, feeling, and action, not just intellectual reflection. The session aims to enhance self-awareness, support professional growth, and contribute to practitioner wellbeing by recognising that challenging moments often carry important learning.
Dimitrios Papalexis is a counsellor, facilitator, and certified psychodramatist working across mental health, youth, and community settings.
