TICKET UPDATE: If you've missed out on tickets, please add your name to the waiting list as more tickets may be available in March & you will be notified.A rare opportunity to hear original music live on the Country that inspired it, the premiere live music performance of '11 Stories from the River Dyarubbin" celebrates the mighty Hawkesbury-Nepean river system, reflecting on 11 of it's big stories shared by the community and those who know and care for the river.
With Dharug songs by Jasmine Seymour and Stacy-Jane Etal and featuring musicians Gary Daley : piano / piano accordian, Jess Green : guitar, Dimitri Vouros : Clarinet, Jess Ciampa : Percussion, Mary Rapp : cello / double bass, Barbara Webb violin / mandolin, Oonagh Sherrard composer / cello.
Dharug narrator Rhiannon Wright will offer a Dharug interpretation, and projections of river images and artwork will be screened, including work by photographers Sarah Rhodes, Lyndal Irons, Robbie Dunn and artwork by Leanne Mulgo Watson and students from local schools who participated in project workshops in 2019.
The music can be heard in the award-winning '11 Stories from the River Dyarubbin' Audio Walk series and ABC RN's "Yarramundi and the People of Dyarubbin".
This event is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW, Hawkesbury Regional Museum, Western Sydney University Sustainable Futures and Dharug Custodian Aboriginal Corporation.
