This 1.5 hour session aims to equip you with the tools to foster a healthier, more supportive work environment for yourself and your colleagues.Content covered:
• Review the evidence for why good work is good for our health
• Overview of the three Codes of Practice under the Work Health & Safety (WHS) Act that relate to risk reduction and management for work related mental illness
• Explore principles for meeting WHS responsibilities while creating a safe and healthy workplace
• Understand what risk management looks like at a team level for mental illness and wellbeing
• Learn how to approach reasonable adjustments that support safe and sustainable work
• Understand when/if disclosure of mental health concerns may occur in a work setting
• Identify personal protective factors that support individual wellbeing
• Identify team protective factors that help create healthy work environments
• Explore the resources available at UWA that relate to healthy workplaces including free psychology, webinars, further training, key contacts, reporting process and policies
