ABOUT CPS
Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) is the evidence-based model Dr. Ross Greene describes in his influential books The Explosive Child, Lost at School, Lost & Found, and Raising Human Beings.
The CPS model has transformed thinking and practices in countless families, schools, inpatient psychiatric units, and residential and juvenile detention facilities throughout the world, and has been associated with dramatic reductions in adult-child conflict, concerning behaviours, disciplinary referrals, detentions, suspensions, restraints, and seclusions.
The model represents a significant departure from discipline-as-usual: it focuses on solving problems rather than on modifying behaviour, emphasises collaborative rather than unilateral solutions, encourages proactive rather than reactive intervention, de-emphasises diagnostic categories, and provides practical, research-based tools for assessment and intervention.
In these sessions, Dr. Greene will provide an overview of the CPS model, along with more advanced coverage of the nuances of assessment and engaging kids in solving the problems that affect their lives.
COURSES
INTRODUCTORY COURSE
A general overview of the CPS model, including key themes, use of assessment instrumentation, and solving problems collaboratively.
Session 1 of 2 - Tuesday 3rd February - 8:00am - 11:15am AEST (Brisbane time) + 2 weeks replay on-demand (4th - 17th February)
Session 2 of 2 - Tuesday 10th February - 8:00am - 11:15am AEST (Brisbane time) + 2 weeks replay on-demand (11th - 24th February)
ADVANCED COURSE
Dive deeper into various facets of the CPS model. Includes extensive use of video examples and ample time for questions and discussion.
Session 1 of 2 - Tuesday 17th February - 8:00am - 11:15am AEST (Brisbane time) + 2 weeks replay on-demand (18th February - 3rd March)
Session 2 of 2 - Tuesday 24th February - 8:00am - 11:15am AEST (Brisbane time) + 2 weeks replay on-demand (25th February - 10th March)

CPS CERTIFICATION
Completing the Introductory and Advanced CPS Training is a prerequisite to applying for the CPS Certification Training. Completion of the Certification Training is required for those who wish to provide the CPS model in their school, treatment, or clinical setting.
BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Where an invoice is requested, registrations are considered final on submission of the booking form and all event terms and conditions, including cancellation policy, will apply.
- All cancellations must be made in writing to admin@illumelearning.com.au. For cancellations for any reason, including change of mind, the following terms apply-
- Cancellations made prior to 5pm AEST Friday 30th January will be eligible for a refund less a $50 cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made after 5pm AEST Friday 30th January will not be eligible for any refund.
- Access is provided for the registered individual/s only. Access details are unique to you and cannot be shared. Sharing access details will compromise your access to the platform and your registration will be cancelled. You will not be eligible for a refund.
- Refunds will not be offered in the event of non-attendance.
- Where access details are not received, it is the responsibility of the registered attendee to contact admin@illumelearning.com.au. Please check any junk/spam folders first.
- On-demand replay access will close at midnight AEST two weeks after each live event. No extensions will be available under any circumstances.
