Cinematographers - School Holiday Program (Thornbury)
About
For emerging filmmakers, cinematographers and storytellersYear 7-12 students with an interest in cameras, directing or lighting are invited to explore the possibilities of visual storytelling by taking part in this one day filmmaking workshop. Gain access to and learn to use professional filmmaking equipment, including high-powered lights, sound equipment and a full 6K cinema camera package.
Upon arrival, you’ll meet the industry professionals who’ll be your mentors for the day. They’ll take you through all the equipment piece by piece and explain what everything is, why it’s used on professional film sets, and how it all helps tell engaging stories.
After a fully catered lunch, you’ll then work as a team to plan the shots, decorate and light the set - before shooting a full short film. Each participant will receive guidance and support from our Mentors who are there to ensure you leave with the skills and confidence to tackle your own projects.
Everyone will receive an email after the fact with a link to download the audio and video files of each take from the day. These won’t be synced and the video will be in a RAW or h.264 format. Unsure what that means? Don’t worry! You’ll be shown on the day!
