🦘 Kanyana Keepers: Mammals | A Full-Day Wildlife Experience for Teens aged 15–18.Step into the world of wildlife care with Kanyana Keeper: Mammals — a full-day, hands-on drop-off program for teens passionate about our native mammals, conservation, or future wildlife careers.
Participants will get up close with Australia’s amazing native mammals and learn what it takes to care for the species that share our bushland and backyards.
🐾 Meet Our Mammal Ambassadors and get hands-on with some of Kanyana’s furry residents, including:
- Possums
- Wallabies
- Echidnas
- Bettongs
- Bilbies
…and more!
Learn about their unique adaptations, behaviours, and the challenges they face in the wild.
🐨 Real Keeper Skills - participants will step into the role of a wildlife keeper to:
- Prepare and present specialised diets
- Observe and record natural behaviours
- Assist with habitat checks and enclosure maintenance under supervision
- Help create enrichment to keep our animals active and stimulated
- Learn essential husbandry skills used by real animal carers

- Enclosed shoes (required for safety)
Safety & Supervision:
The program is fully supervised by trained Kanyana staff and Program Leaders, each holding a Working With Children Check and First Aid certification. This is a drop-off program — parents do not need to stay onsite.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in so the adventure can begin on time!
