About this Program: The Royal Children’s Hospital Simulation Train the Trainer Program is a cornerstone in preparing clinicians to become effective simulation facilitators and educators. This workshop provides participants with the underpinning knowledge, skills, and practical frameworks required to design and deliver high-quality simulation-based education.Day 1 and 2:
The 2-day program covers foundational simulation theory, principles of educational design, and strategies for creating a safe, supportive, and psychologically secure learning environment. Participants will develop capability in scenario design and development, as well as explore a range of debriefing methodologies to enhance learner reflection and performance improvement.
Day 3 (Optional):
This advanced workshop is designed for participants who have completed the 2-day Simulation Train the Trainer Program. It builds on foundational knowledge by providing hands-on practice, expert mentorship, and structured peer feedback to further refine facilitation skills.
Participants will take part in three interprofessional scenarios (medical, nursing, allied health), applying principles of team reflexivity to strengthen communication and patient safety. Each participant will receive tailored coaching from the RCH Simulation Team.
