Maintaining Strength for Pointe Work
This live 1-hour webinar will provide teachers with the tools and knowledge to continue to encourage students to work efficiently and effectively en pointe. Participants will be guided through a series of strengthening exercises that focus on the pelvis, hips, groin, calves and feet and explore the most common injuries that occur while training.
Aims
- To demonstrate strength-based exercises for all students who are training en pointe
- To demonstrate a series of exercises targeting the core, thoracic area, adductors, gluteals and lower leg
- To enable teachers to gain practical tips on focused exercises to utilise in their studio
- Provide teachers with an understanding of common injuries that occur relating to pointe work
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the session, you will have an increased understanding of:
- the signs and symptoms of common injuries relating to pointe work,
- strength exercises for the core, thoracic area, adductors, gluteals and lower leg, and
- a variety of exercises that link directly to training and maintaining strength for pointe work.
