4A Talks: Linh Lê and Tian Zhang
About
Join us on Saturday 6 December at 4A for two conversations spotlighting contemporary art and creative practice across Vietnam and Mongolia. From 11:00am to 1:15pm, Ho Chi Minh City-based independent curator, writer and researcher Linh Lê presents ‘The Working Class in an Industrialised, Modernised, Urbanised World: Contemporary Vietnamese Art Today’, a program featuring a video art screening series and a presentation examining how contemporary artists portray the Vietnamese working class, whose stories are increasingly told through individual perspectives rather than collective narratives.
From 1:30pm to 3:00pm, independent curator, writer, facilitator and collective worker Tian Zhang presents ‘Nomadic Journeys: The Ulaanbaatar Biennale, art and exchange’. As Chief Curator of the Ulaanbaatar Biennale, Zhang will lead a discussion with Odgerel Odonchimed, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Mongolia, Mongolian curator and artist Ariuntuya Jambaldorj, and Ulaanbaatar Biennale participating artist Jazz Money. Together they will offer insights into Mongolia’s emerging arts community, the development of the 2025 Ulaanbaatar Biennale On the horizon, under the moon, and reflections on art and cultural exchange between Mongolia and so-called Australia.
Accessibility Notice: Our house elevator is undergoing service and maintenance, and will not be functioning during the events. You will need to negotiate stairs to access the first floor where the talks will be held.
