Association of Geelong and District Angling Clubs (AGDAC) is teaming up with Coast Guard Queenscliff to celebrate 50 years of keeping our waters safe — and what better way than a community fishing comp!Enjoy great fishing, a BBQ, Coast Guard displays and lots of family fun, together with the chance to win some Fabulous Prizes including:

Anglers can launch as early as they like from any location around Port Phillip. However, weigh in will take place at 3pm at Coast Guard Queenscliff Headquarters , opposite Queenscliff Boat Ramp.
Limited to 100 adult entrants at $30 each and juniors (under 16) at $10 each.
It’s all about good company, great fishing, and celebrating a group of volunteers who’ve been looking out for local boaters for half a century!
Competition Rules
1. Event Overview
• Competitors can launch as early as they chose ON THE DAY
• Weigh-in from 12.00 noon to 3:00 pm at Coast Guard Queenscliff Headquarters, 1A Hesse Street (opposite the boat ramp). Competitors not on site by 3.00pm sharp will not be permitted to weigh in.
2. Eligibility
• Open to the general public.
• Junior Division applies to entrants 16 years and under on the day.
• All participants must complete registration and payment, not later than Sunday 8 March.
• Registration requires acknowledgement of acceptance of competition rules.
3. Safety Requirements
• All boats must comply with Victorian Marine Safety Regulations.
• Skippers are responsible for vessel safety, weather assessment, and ensuring all required safety gear is onboard.
• Lifejackets must be worn in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• If assistance is needed, call 000 or use VHF 16.
4. Fishing Rules
• All Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) size and bag limits apply.
• Fish must be caught within Port Phillip waters (Fishing in or outside of ‘The Heads’ is not allowed) on the day of competition.
• Only fish caught by rod and line are eligible.
• Fish must be presented to weigh-in fresh, whole, and ungutted.
• Each competitor may present one fish per category
5. Competition Categories
Open Division (Maximum 100 adults)
• Snapper Flathead Whiting
Junior Division (Maximum 50 juniors)
• Snapper Flathead Whiting
In both divisions winners will be decided according to “mystery weights” for each category to be declared at the commencement of weigh-in.
6. Weigh-In Rules
• Weigh-in closes strictly at 3:00pm. If competitors are not on site by 3.00pm weigh in will not be allowed.
• The official scales and judges’ decisions are final.
• In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by the toss of a coin.
7. Conduct
• This is a family-friendly community event - sportsmanship behaviour is expected at all times.
• Any unsportsmanlike or unsafe behaviour may result in disqualification.
• Assistance from another person is allowed only for juniors or for safety reasons.
8. Prizes
• Prizes awarded for Open and Junior categories.
• There will be two prizes for each category (winner and runner up)
• Special awards may be presented on the day.
• All prize decisions are final.
9. Cancellations & Weather
• In the event of severe weather, the competition may be postponed or modified.
• Updates will be published via AGDAC and Coast Guard Queenscliff social media and event contacts.

• Coast Guard Queenscliff and AGDAC accept no responsibility for loss, damage, or injury howsoever caused.
