The City is committed to becoming a Mentally Healthy Workplace and offers staff the opportunity to complete this two-day training course and online end-of-course (open book) component.You must be available to attend both days being 15th and 29th January 2026 at 8.45am - 4.15pm.
Morning tea will be provided.
Its BYO your lunch - there are facilities available for you to store it and heat it up (or purchase lunch from the shops within the CBD).
Please be aware that the content of this course can be quite confronting. Topics that will be covered are:
• Understanding Mental Health, including diagnoses, prevalence and common misconceptions
• Signs and causes of depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance misuse
• How to provide initial support to adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis
• Crisis First Aid for: suicide behaviour, panic attacks, aggressive behaviour, self-harm, acute psychosis
• Responding to the effects of traumatic events and drug and alcohol misuse
