š¦ Kanyana Keepers: Reptiles | A Full-Day Wildlife Experience for Teens aged 15ā18.Step into the world of wildlife care with Kanyana Keeper: Reptilesāa full-day, hands-on drop-off program for teens passionate about reptiles, conservation, and potential future wildlife careers.
Participants will work closely with Australiaās native reptiles, gaining a deeper understanding of reptile behaviour, care, and the challenges these species face in the wild.
š Meet Our Reptile Ambassadors, which may include:
- Pythons
- Blue-tongue skinks
- Bobtail lizards
- Freshwater turtles
ā¦and more!
Teens will explore advanced reptile adaptations, how different species respond to environmental changes, and the role wildlife hospitals play in reptile conservation.
š¢ Real Keeper Skills - participants will step into the role of a junior wildlife keeper to:
- Prepare and present specialised reptile diets
- Observe, record and interpret reptile behaviours
- Assist with simple enclosure checks and habitat maintenance under staff supervision
- Create enrichment activities that support natural behaviours
- Learn key husbandry principles used in wildlife rehabilitation and long-term care

Safety & Supervision:
The program is fully supervised by trained Kanyana staff and Program Leaders, each holding a Working With Children Check and First Aid certification. This is a drop-off programāparents do not need to stay onsite.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in so the adventure can begin on time!
