🦉 Wildlife Careers Discovery Day | Full-Day Experience for Years 10–12Thinking about working with animals? Step behind the scenes and discover the wide range of wildlife careers that help protect our native species!
This full-day, hands-on program is perfect for teens curious about careers in wildlife care, conservation, research or the environment.
🌱 Explore Careers in Wildlife & Conservation
Participants will:
Discover the different pathways and opportunities in wildlife, veterinary and environmental fields
Try industry-related activities such as habitat restoration, research techniques and species monitoring
Meet some of our friendly wildlife ambassadors up-close
Learn how wildlife hospitals and rehabilitation programs support conservation in WA
🧰 Real-World Experience & Skills
Students will engage in interactive tasks and discussions that show what working with wildlife is really like — from animal care to conservation science and community education.
🧢 What to Bring:
Morning tea and lunch (no café onsite)
Water bottle
Enclosed shoes (required for safety)
Weather-appropriate clothing — including rainwear for outdoor activities
🕗 Times & Supervision:
Program runs 8:30am–2:30pm at Kanyana Wildlife.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in so the day can begin on time.
This is a drop-off program. All Program Leaders are First Aid trained and hold a Working With Children Check. Smoking is not permitted onsite.
