Experience the Magic of Swing with Tom Burlinson in 'Still Swingin''!
Prepare yourself for a dazzling, high-energy show as Australian star of stage and screen, Tom Burlinson, brings to life the sensational sounds of vocal swing. In 'Still Swingin'', Tom pays tribute to the legendary masters of the genre, delivering a montage of classics from Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., Nat 'King' Cole, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, and the one and only Frank Sinatra. He seamlessly bridges the golden era of swing with modern hits from today's favorites like Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bublé.
Tom's illustrious career began when he shot to stardom in the early '80s with his role in the iconic Australian film The Man from Snowy River. This success led to a series of starring roles both in Australia and internationally. In the '90s, Tom unveiled his remarkable singing talent when he was handpicked by Tina Sinatra to provide the singing voice of the young Frank in the Warner Brothers mini-series Sinatra. He later created and starred in the acclaimed theatrical production Frank – A Life in Song, celebrating the life and music of the legendary Sinatra.
Now, with 'Still Swingin'', Tom explores the renowned achievements of other swing superstars, selecting their best songs to perform alongside timeless standards. Expect to hear all-time favorites like 'I've Got the World on a String,' 'Fly Me to the Moon,' 'I've Got You Under My Skin,' and, of course, 'New York, New York.' His show wouldn't be complete without a selection of Sinatra classics, honoring the greatest of them all while celebrating the greatness of his contemporaries.
Swing music has a timeless appeal, and Tom's vibrant performance captures the essence of what makes this genre so enchanting. It's the energy, the rhythm, and the storytelling that resonate with audiences of all ages. Whether it's the sophisticated melodies or the universal themes woven into the lyrics, swing offers a delightful escape that's both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.
