The 40th anniversary Kilkivan Great Horse Ride (April 10–12, 2026) will be a three-day celebration of country life, equestrian heritage, and community spirit, featuring trail rides, parades, competitions, and live entertainment. Visitors can expect a mix of horse-focused events and broader family-friendly non horse related activities, making it a true country weekend escape.The program includes four trail rides, heavy horse demonstrations, barrel racing, roping demonstrations, ranch sorting, and working cattle dogs. Beyond the equine events, there will be street markets, bush poetry, camp oven cook-offs, youth talent competitions, dog high jump, line dancing, and mechanical bull rides. Live music runs throughout the weekend. The highlight is the Main Street Parade on Saturday 11 April 2026 at 4 pm, followed by evening entertainment. With free entry to to the venue thanks to community sponsorship, affordable camping options, food vans, and a welcoming atmosphere, the 40th anniversary Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Country Festival promises to be twice as big as previous years and a vibrant celebration of Kilkivan’s country heritage.
