For one night only, The Wandering Cellar Door brings its signature style of storytelling, hospitality and wine discovery to Mount Isa — with Sommelier Matt Wilkie guiding guests through an immersive five-course dinner and six perfectly paired wines.
This is more than a dinner. It’s a journey through regional Italy, where tradition meets modern creativity and every pairing has been curated to elevate both glass and plate.
Your Culinary Journey
Begin the evening with a refreshing Prosecco on arrival, setting the tone for a night of connection and indulgence.
The menu then unfolds through five beautifully balanced courses:
• House-baked Focaccia & Pinot Grigio
Warm, fragrant focaccia paired with a crisp, citrus-driven Pinot Grigio — the perfect Italian welcome.
• Golden Arancini & Vermentino
Creamy, crunchy arancini lifted by the fresh, saline edge of a Mediterranean-style Vermentino.
• Rigatoni with Burrata & Nero d’Avola
A luxurious pasta course meets Sicily’s hero red — bold, plush and made to wrap around rich flavour.
• Sous Vide Duck Breast & Sangiovese
A hero pairing inspired by Tuscan countryside feasts. Juicy duck harmonising with Sangiovese’s savoury elegance.
• Panna Cotta & Botrytis Dessert Wine
A velvety, gently sweet finish matched with a luscious Botrytis wine for the perfect finale.
Throughout the evening, Matt shares the stories behind each wine — the people, the vineyards, the vintages — bringing the heart of Italy and the ethos of independent producers directly to your table.
