NATURE KNOWS HOW - MORNING SESSION
Learn how nature can be used for design inspiration and problem-solving through STEM and biomimicry.
Students will observe the tried and tested biological strategies and patterns of nature and design their own nature-inspired STEM ideas for a healthier planet.
- Learn examples of bio-inspired inventions and come face-to-face with the plants and systems that influenced them.
- Identify the tried and tested biological strategies of nature through guided nature observation
- Come up with their own nature-inspired ideas
- Go on a discovery walk
HEALTH + WELLBEING IN NATURE - AFTERNOON SESSION
Explore the physical, mental and emotional benefits of nature and spending time outdoors.
Students will be challenged to consider how being in nature can contribute to positive emotional and physical wellbeing and discuss the importance of spending time outdoors. They will learn mindfulness techniques and explore the role nature can play in reducing anger, fear, anxiety and stress.
- Participate in activities to improve their connection to nature
- Explore the benefits of practicing mindfulness in natural environments
- Sample a taste of native tea
