Summer Puppetry Masterclass: Make a Blatch Puppet!9–11 January 2026 — Into-Arts Studio, West Ryde (Sydney)
Build your own character puppet inspired by Jim Henson’s 1969 “Blatch”! Over three hands-on days, you’ll learn how to cut and work with faux fur, hand-sew puppet features, construct an eye-widening mechanism, and explore basic monitor puppetry skills for screen and stage. Suitable for beginners and experienced makers.
Facilitators
Katherine Hannaford — Puppet builder with 20+ years’ experience; trained in film/TV puppetry in the USA with Sesame Street/Muppet mentors.
Kay Yasugi — Puppeteer, maker and teaching artist; credits include ABC iView, Canva, Tourism Australia and Sydney Opera House; General Secretary of UNIMA Australia.
