Come along and enjoy a country road trip through Australia in ballad and song with our "Country Roadtrippin" ... a musical celebration of local Australian artists. Presented by Hillview Cottages Kingaroy, set high on the Booie Range where views go on forever and meet the dancing night skies.Sit back, relax and enjoy the flavours of the two-course camp oven cooked meal prepared by the award-winning camp oven cooks, 'The Baitlayers.'
A licensed bar will be onsite to provide local wines and selected beers to enhance your meal.
There is an amazing line up of artists for four hours of musical artistry.
Amy Ryan who at 16 years of age has paved a path in Australian Country Music and released two albums, performed at many festivals, was winner of the CCMA Junior Songwriter 2023 and chosen to attend the IBMA Kids on Bluegrass in 2024. She released her first single 'Sitting Pretty' in 2022 which soon followed with her debut Album, 'Our Land' with the track 'As I Ride' co-written with Peter Smokie Dawson. In January 2023, Amy received the Brumby Award for under 18 female vocalist of the year for the song, 'Diamantina Dreaming.' A song Amy turned to music from a poem her father had written about the families love for the region. She released her second album, 'My Escape,' in July 2023 which was well received. Amy enjoys telling her stories, expressing these through singing and playing her guitar. She has captured the attention of many in the audience and the music industry with her big personality, confidence and skills.
Paul Ricketts was the winner of the Inaugural Thornton Young Award 2024 and recently graduated from CMAA Academy of Country Music. He received his first golden guitar nomination in late 2024, as a cowriter on Dean Perrett's song, 'It's a Big Thing in a Small Town.' He has released six singles and performed at a variety of music musters, festivals and shows alongside some of the greats, both old and new, such as Slim Dusty's Travelling Country Band, Chad Morgan, Dean Perrett, Jeff Brown to name a few. Songwriting has become a passion of Paul's, and he's written with some well-known songwriters such as Angus Gill, Alan Caswell, Lindsay Waddington, Dean Perrett, Bobby Ricks and more. Paul is a proud Australian and loves to express his passion through music. His material is in the traditional country vein, but his sound is very modern and progressive with a groove. It is well produced, and most of all, it's authentically Australian. The best way to describe his music is to call it Australian Balladry.
Caitlyn Jamieson is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with her authentic storytelling and raw energy that has captured the attention of audiences nationwide. She was winner of Maccas Golden Gig scholarship, grand finalist in the Toyota Star Maker competition and a contestant on 'The Voice.' Cait was raised on the road with her musician parents so her passion for music was ignited early, leading her to master a range of instruments, with her favourite being the fiddle. She has performed on many different stages and has a voice with a fresh yet timeless sound, blending traditional country roots with modern flair. Her voice is as captivating as her stage presence. Some of her singles are 'Hit the Gravel,' 'All My Cash,' and 'Unscathed.'
Lindsay Waddington is one of Australia's premier multi-instrumentalists, 10 times Qld musician of the year and winner of the Golden Guitar Award for Instrumental 2025 amongst many other accolades. He has 13 albums to his name, over 11 million YouTube views and has established himself as a multi-instrumentalist, session musician, songwriter and producer. He also owns and operates an acclaimed recording studio LWM House on the Gold Coast. His musical journey began over 30 years ago, starting as a roadie and then fulltime drummer for Brian Young's touring country music show. During this period, Lindsay taught himself guitar, which led to mastering numerous other instruments including bass, dobro, and mandolin. His production and engineering expertise has been sought after by numerous Australian music icons, including John Williamson, James Blundell, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd and Allan Caswell to name a few.
Our final musician is Youth Musician of the Year to be announced in March 2026. This will be an opportunity for the winner of the South Burnett Music Awards 2026, 'Youth Musician of the Year,' to appear on stage to showcase their accomplishments and perform live with the other accomplished artists on the evening.
What an evening of talent and artistry these musicians have in store, so come along and support our Australian artists, both accomplished and up and coming. So, plan a trip to the South Burnett and book your accommodation in the area early. Hillview Cottages still has six powered and six unpowered caravan/motorhome sites available, but you must be fully self-contained and book early.
